Vancouver Exposed Photo Contest

Ever notice the abundance of sea life bedecking the entranceway to the Marine Building? What about the thicket of trees atop the Woodwards condo tower? The blue archways of Edward Chapman’s British Importers on Pender Street?

Share a close-up photo of an unusual architectural feature on a Vancouver building to win two tickets to one of our Vancouver Exposed Photowalks.

The feature you choose is entirely up to you – maybe its an ornate doorway, maybe it’s a colourful paint job, maybe its a strange stonework motif. Whatever it is, take a photo and post it – you could win!

What’s at stake?

The prize is two tickets to one of our upcoming Vancouver Exposed Photowalks in August and September 2014, value $98. And, bragging rights, of course.

Tell me more about Vancouver Exposed

We’ve partnered with Vancouver Photowalks to combine the little-known histories of downtown’s most eye-catching buildings with coaching on photographic technique, to take your images to the next level – all while exploring one of the most beautiful parts of the city.

Each Photowalk is jointly led by a Forbidden Vancouver storyteller and a Vancouver Photowalks photography coach. Photowalks run the first and third Saturday of the month July through September, starting at 3 p.m.

I’m in! How do I enter?

To enter, snap an artsy, colourful, interesting shot of an unusual detail on a Vancouver building.

Simply post your photos to Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #ForbiddenContest. (If you don’t use either of these social media platforms, just email your photo to Kendall at [email protected] with the subject line “Forbbiden Contest.”)

The entry deadline is July 31, 2014.

And don’t forget to tell us what building you have shot!

More importantly, how do I win?

To win, it’s a matter of having the best photo – as decided by a panel of staff from Forbidden Vancouver and Vancouver Photowalks.
