The Granville Street Reveal on CBC – North by Northwest
In July, Matthew Parsons, reporter of CBC radio show North by Northwest, got a chance to go on special event Forbidden Vancouver walking tour, “The Granville Street Reveal.” This tour took audiences for a trip into Vancouver’s entertainment history and was led by infamous bon vivant and star of Vancouver’s vaudeville stages, (fictional character) Lord Fothrington-Appleby himself!
“The Granville Street Reveal” centered on the city’s entertainment district, aka “Theatre Row” – and included glimpses into the past lives of notable venues such as the Commodore Ballroom and the Orpheum Theatre. It also took a detour off Granville to take audiences behind the scenes at the notorious Penthouse Nightclub.
The Granville Street Reveal had an action-packed run of dates throughout summer 2013. Stay tuned to the Forbidden Vancouver website for future walking tours, activities, and special events celebrating Vancouver history!
