I’m Joelle, a storyteller for the Lost Souls of Gastown Tour at Forbidden Vancouver. Driven by a passion for storytelling and history, I’m eager to weave these worlds together. As a multidisciplinary theatre artist based in Vancouver, BC, I work in directing, acting, playwriting, and costume design. Holding a BFA in Acting from Trinity Western University, I honed my craft and love for performing arts there. I co-founded Far From the Tree Productions, a theatre company that celebrates performance by focusing on essentials. When I’m not acting, you might find me deep in my self-taught hobby of bookbinding. I enjoy crafting notebooks from scratch and transforming softcover books into elegant hardcovers.
At Forbidden Vancouver, I blend my interests in history and theatre, reviving the tales of those who preceded us. It’s an exciting chance to form connections and celebrate our diverse past. Sharing stories, whether through a Gastown tour or a theatre production, helps me connect with history and the world. I look forward to sharing these incredible tales with you.
