Meet The Team: Rachel Ruecker

Storyteller for Forbidden Vancouver Walking Tours

Born and raised in Vancouver, Rachel (she/her) joined us as a Lost Souls of Gastown storyteller in 2022. Now leading three of our tours, she has a background in acting, writing, and comedy. Rachel graduated with her BFA in Drama from NYU Tisch
Since returning to BC, she has performed across the Lower Mainland with various theatre companies and recently even wrote, acted, and produced her own short film. Rachel is also one of the city’s brightest up-and-coming stand up comedians and often performs live on stages across town. She’s also on a quest to find the city’s best caesar, so if you’ve got a lead—let her know after the tour.
When asked what her favourite thing is about working with Forbidden Vancouver, Rachel said, “Sometimes, when the energy is just right, you can feel the group leaning in, hanging on every word. There’s that magic spark in the air that’s why we do what we do!” She also admits “a good hearty group laugh warms the soul, no pun intended.” Though she has been known to intend a pun once or twice, she would like the record to show. Join her on the Lost Souls of Gastown, the Forbidden Vancouver tour, or our newest addition: The Hidden History & Sweet Treats Tour!
