Meet The Team: Sandra Medeiros

Storyteller for Forbidden Vancouver Walking Tours

Sandra (she/her) has a serious love for local theatre. The Vancouver native plays to her Portuguese roots with her production company Portuguese Buns Productions, in partnership with Maria J. Cruz. They’re dedicated to bringing Portuguese stories to life through theatre and film, like their sold out Fringe play, FESTA!, and are working on bringing their sitcom, Tia Maria’s Cafe, to the masses.  Currently, they are busy pitching their project while looking for a producer to partner with.

Sandra is also co-Artistic Director of Naked Goddess Productions, an award winning Vancouver theatre company, and will soon be seen in Calendar Girls (Leather and Lace Productions) and will direct The Swearing Jar (Deep Cove Stage).

Sandra was introduced to Forbidden Vancouver by her friend and long-time Forbidden Vancouver storyteller, Eric Regimbald, whom she worked with on two plays. She immediately became interested in playing a historically-inspired role while sharing stories of her hometown’s past. She joined the team in 2020 and has been leading the Lost Souls of Gastown Tour since 2021. Sandra loves being able to share Vancouver’s history with the wide range of people who come on our tours, from global travellers to locals, and especially enjoys having youngsters in her groups. Her favourite scene is the dramatic story in Gaoler’s Mews, and she also loves the playful banter she shares with a specially chosen audience member about Birdie Stewart. You’ve been warned!

Sandra is a cat mom and also the proud mom of 16 year old twin girls who are her favourite people in the whole world and whom she’ll describe as “way more talented than I am!” It must run in the family! Catch Sandra on a Lost Souls of Gastown Tour.
