Prohibition City Walking Tour Featured in the Vancouver Sun
In just its first year in business, Forbidden Vancouver was proudly featured in the Vancouver Sun. Having just started Forbidden Vancouver in May of 2012, Will Woods, Forbidden Vancouver Founder and Chief Storyteller, was beginning his first ever summer season with Forbidden Vancouver tour, Prohibition City.
Vancouver Sun reporter Gary Bellett got a chance to interview Will on the beginnings of his company, and discovered that after moving to Vancouver from London as a consultant for Deloitte, Will decided to reassess what it was that he really wanted to do. Heavily inspired by the ghost tours in Edinburgh and the underground tour in Seattle, Will decided to start a walking tour company in Vancouver. Searching the Vancouver archives, he soon found enough information on the little known history of Prohibition in BC to inspire an entire tour.
It didn’t take long for the Prohibition City walking tour to become a staple for anyone with an interest in Vancouver’s history.
When Forbidden Vancouver began in May of 2012, there was just one tour and two guides (Will, and Vancouver actor Rob Poelvoorde.) Fast forward to 2016 and it has ten guides, two walking tours and a packed program of special events!
