I founded Forbidden Vancouver Walking Tours in 2012. Back then, it was just me, in a fedora, sharing tales of prohibition on Vancouver’s streets. Now, I manage a team of incredible guides.
What gets me going? Seeing that look in people’s eyes when they’re totally lost in one of our stories. Plus, I take real pride in bringing in guest speakers who’ve lived through Vancouver’s history. We’ve had everyone from retired cops to former gang members to legendary musicians sharing their tales at special events over the years.
My driving force is a relentless curiosity for history and people, and I’m always striving for improvement in every area of our company’s work. I’m blessed to lead an organization of so many talented, smart, and kind human beings, who share my passion for bringing the city’s past into focus.
I’m originally from London, England, and have made Vancouver home with my wife Alicia since 2006. We’re now a family of Canadians, with our two sons and dog Chester. In other news, I love to run, cook curries, play guitar, and I hope to publish my first collection of short stories before too long.
