Meet The Team: Zoe Salvin

I’m Zoe Salvin, originally from the Yukon and now living in Burnaby, and I’m one of the storytellers for Forbidden Vancouver, leading the Lost Souls of Gastown Tour.

My background is deeply rooted in the arts, with a BFA in Theatre Performance from UVic, plus hands-on experience in costume and prop production. This passion for theatre naturally led me to Forbidden Vancouver, where I can continue blending my love for performance with rich historical narratives.

One of my favourite parts of this role is getting to uncover and share Vancouver’s crucial historical stories, making history engaging for everyone who joins our tours in Gastown.

For post-tour refreshments, I often recommend The Black Frog or Steamworks. Beyond the tours, you can find me exploring local gems like Neighbour’s Restaurant & Pizza House, indulging in a treat from La Casa Gelato, or enjoying my hobbies: reading, playing board games, video games, or cross-stitching. I even picked up Morse code in high school and semaphore in university!
